Application Process for Mandarin Visa Students
If you are applying for a visa to study Mandarin in Taiwan from a foreign country, please understand the following procedure and submit the relevant information to the Mandarin Learning Center by email or paper mail no later than 6 weeks before the start of the course.
I.Registration Process
Step 1. Submit Required Documents
Please submit the following documents at least 6 weeks before the orientation to the Mandarin Learning Center (MLC) of Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) by email or postal services. Submission after deadline is not accepted.
Required Documents:
Photocopy of the diploma of higher education and the transcript (both must be translated into Chinese or English, and the copy of the graduation certificate must be notarized by a foreign embassy)
A photocopy of your passport
2-inch photos
A Financial Statement issued within 3 month and shows an ending balance exceeding USD2,800 or its equivalent

Step 2 . Visa Application
MLC will send you an admission letter once receiving your application around two weeks.
On receiving the above documents, please go to the local Taiwanese embassy, Taiwanese consulate or Taipei Economy and Culture Office to apply for a “Foreigner to study Chinese in Taiwan (FR) visa.”
Please provide a scan of the document of the visa page of your passport, visa number, and flight and accommodation information after obtaining the visa.
Make a payment: MLC will provide the payment link for tuition fee. Please provide the remittance certificate before coming to Taiwan.

Step 3 . Entry Procedures
Please apply a prepaid cellphone card at the Taoyuan Airport Telecom Counter located in the airport control area to apply for a free 15-day SIM card and inform the school when arrival.
You must keep close contact with staffs from MLC after arrival in Taiwan. We must inform National Immigration Agency if you lost contact for no reason.
Note:
If the course starts before your entry, MLC will provide a online classroom link for you to take online courses which will conclude total hours of your attendance.
MLC does not provide dormitories. If you have rental house requirement, please let us know in advance, and we will provide you rental information.
The course schedules of the MLC are subject to change anytime in accordance with the announcement of the Central Command Center.
※We suggest the students from Tuberculosis High Burden Countries to provide a chest X-ray examination report for TB.(Please see the attachment for the Tuberculosis High Burden Countries list.)
