This achievement showcases CYCU\u2019s outstanding breakthroughs in cutting-edge quantum technology and holds profound practical significance for Taiwan, which has long been impacted by typhoons.<\/p><p data-path-to-node=\"5\">The research team noted that while traditional deep learning is used for typhoon trajectory forecasting, the massive number of parameters involved makes the training process highly resource-intensive. To address this, the team proposed the <b data-path-to-node=\"5\" data-index-in-node=\"240\">&#8220;Quantum Parameter Adaptation (QPA)&#8221;<\/b> framework. This framework integrates a quantum neural network during model training to generate highly efficient weights with a minimal number of parameters, which are then deployed back to traditional computers for inference.<\/p><p data-path-to-node=\"6\">This design <b data-path-to-node=\"6\" data-index-in-node=\"12\">slashes the number of parameters by over 96%<\/b> while maintaining prediction accuracy\u2014even outperforming traditional models in certain test cases. It opens up new avenues for meteorological departments and research institutions to develop energy-saving, low-cost, and fast-computing climate forecasting tools.
