The highly anticipated AI industry event, “AI EXPO Taiwan 2026,” kicked off its grand three-day run on the 25th at the Taipei Expo Park Expo Dome. Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) stands out as the only university representative among this year’s organizers. Through keynotes at the main forum, exhibition showcases, industry-academia networking, and technology communications, CYCU is fully demonstrating its innovation prowess in AI and quantum computing. At the “Creator Influence Awards” announced this morning (the 26th), CYCU Professor Hu Hsiao-wei was honored with the Creator of the Year Award for her IC Voice Podcast program, The Wise Fish (Da Zhi Ruo Yu). This accolade once again highlights CYCU’s outstanding performance in technology knowledge dissemination and social impact.

Centered around the core theme “AI.X,” AI EXPO Taiwan 2026 aligns with the nation’s “New Ten Major AI Infrastructure Projects” and has drawn over 10,000 national R&D entities, industry representatives, and professionals together under one roof. The opening ceremony was jointly launched by representatives from government, industry, and academia, and was presided over by dignitaries including Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an, National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) Deputy Minister Chen Bing-yu, Etron Technology Chairman Nicky Lu, several representatives from foreign offices in Taiwan, and Ching-Ray Chang, Director of the Quantum Information Center at Chung Yuan Christian University.

The heavyweight opening keynote session, “X Forum,” featured Chair Professor Ching-Ray Chang—Director of the Quantum Information Center at Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU), which was named to the UN-recognized “World’s Top 100 in Quantum”—sharing the stage with experts from Google Quantum AI and NVIDIA. Centered around the technological convergence of “AI × Quantum × Extreme Computing Power,” the panel dove deep into the future roadmap for quantum technology and ultimate computing limits.
Vice President Bi-khim Hsiao also paid a special visit to the exhibition zone of CYCU’s College of Intelligent Computing and Quantum Information to learn about the university’s achievements in talent cultivation, industrial applications, and popular science promotion within the fields of AI and quantum technology. During the guided tour, Dean Chien-Song Chiu noted that as AI develops at a breakneck pace, bottlenecks in computing power and efficiency are becoming increasingly apparent, making quantum technology the key breakthrough. CYCU has already partnered with Compal Electronics and Kway Information to deploy financial quantum applications, unlocking the potential for practical industry implementation of Quantum AI. The “Ruomao” (Ruomao Cat) Quantum AI interactive panel on display at the booth is a collaborative achievement between CYCU, Decore Intellectual Technology, and the Taiwan Quantum Computer and Information Technology Association, designed to promote quantum science education through a lively and intuitive interactive experience. Chiu emphasized: “Quantum and AI are not just the future; they are the reality happening right now. CYCU’s goal is to ‘bring the future closer through computation’.”

Furthermore, the winners of the “Creator Influence Awards”—which honor impactful achievements in technology knowledge communication—have been unveiled. Hu Hsiao-wei, Director of the Bachelor’s Program in Intelligent Computing and Big Data, took home two major accolades for her show The Wise Fish: Creator of the Year in the Podcast category, and the Jury Award for Rising Star Creator. Positioned as “The Data Scientist Who Makes You Instantly Understand AI,” the podcast breaks down complex AI technologies and trends through casual, easy-going conversations. Hu was also invited to host the “AI Parent-Child Education Dialogue Seminar” at this year’s expo. During the session, she emphasized that the “companionship and guidance” provided by parents and educators is the true, core value that AI can never replace.

On another front, the Chung Yuan Christian University Innovation & Entrepreneurship Center (CYCU IEC) is showcasing its “AI Mold Industry Accelerator Program” at the expo. In collaboration with the CYCU Smart Manufacturing Center, the initiative aims to drive the integration of AI technology into the manufacturing sector, accelerating production workflows and solving real-world pain points on the factory floor. Centered around the core theme of “AI × Innovative Applications × Industrial Implementation,” the pavilion comprehensively demonstrates the practical applications of AI and technological innovation across various industries, featuring real-world use cases in lifestyle services, enterprise operations optimization, and smart green energy. Concurrently, by linking Taoyuan’s local youth entrepreneurial hubs with cross-institutional resources, the exhibit illustrates how a university-level accelerator platform can bridge technology, talent, and markets to generate sustainable innovative momentum.
