OBU in Taiwan

Programme Overview

The CYCU–Oxford Brookes Dual Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Architecture and Urban Design is an international academic platform jointly developed by Chung Yuan Christian University (Taiwan) and Oxford Brookes University (UK). The programme integrates architectural design, urban thinking, and interdisciplinary collaboration, enabling students to engage with contemporary global challenges across social, spatial, and environmental domains. Delivered entirely in English within a cross-cultural academic environment, it provides a structured pathway from Taiwan to the UK, preparing students for international professional practice and further study.

Teaching & Structure

The programme adopts a studio-based teaching approach, where independent study, design thinking, and critical inquiry are central to learning. Lectures and workshops establish theoretical and technical foundations, while seminars and design critiques develop analytical and communication skills. The four-year structure is organised as a staged international learning pathway:

Years 1–2 (Taiwan)

Students build foundational knowledge in architecture and urban design while developing English proficiency.

Years 3–4 (United Kingdom)

Students continue with advanced specialist courses at Oxford Brookes University, gaining professional experience and exposure to international design practice.
