Application Process for Mandarin Visa Students

If you are applying for a visa to study Mandarin in Taiwan from abroad, please follow the application procedure and submit all required documents through the online application form no later than 6 weeks before the course begins.

I.Registration Process

Step 1. Submit Required Documents

Please submit the following documents at least 6 weeks before orientation to the Mandarin Learning Center (MLC) of Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) by completing the online application form.
Late submissions will not be accepted.

Required Documents:

  • Admission Application Form (click to fill in)

    Photocopy of diploma and transcript from higher education

    •  Must be translated into Chinese or English

    • The diploma copy must be notarized by a foreign embassy

  • Photocopy of your passport

  • Two 2-inch photos

  • Financial Statement

    → Issued within the last 3 months

    → Must show an ending balance of USD 2,800 or more, or equivalent

After uploading all documents, please proceed to pay the TWD 1,500 application fee. This fee will be deducted from your tuition once you officially enroll.

Step 2 . Visa Application

MLC will send you an admission letter once receiving your application fee around two weeks.

On receiving the above documents, please go to the local Taiwanese embassy, Taiwanese consulate or Taipei Economy and Culture Office to apply for a “Foreigner to study Chinese in Taiwan visa.”

Step 3 . Entry Procedures

You must keep close contact with staffs from MLC after arrival in Taiwan. We will inform National Immigration Agency if you lost contact for no reason.

   Note:

  • MLC does not provide dormitories. If you have rental house requirement, please let us know in advance, and we will provide you rental agent contact.

  • The course schedule at the Mandarin Learning Center may be adjusted according to the Executive Yuan calendar.
    Since national holidays are not included in the course period, the term may start earlier or end later.

※Reminder!

The following fees are for your reference, but there will be changes according to the actual situation

1. Taxi fare: about TWD1,000~1,500 (Taoyuan International Airport to Chung Yuan University)
2. Tuition and registration fee: TWD31,000
3. Textbook fee: about TWD1,500~2,000
4. Rental fee: about TWD5,000~8,000 per month

II. Placement Test

After receive the admission letter, you will be contacted for a placement test, and we will arrange a suitable class level according to your Mandarin language ability and needs.

III. Enrollment

Please check the admission letter for the enrollment date.
