Regular Mandarin Seasonal Program

Introduction

Practical Mandarin programs are offered in 9 levels, from beginners to advanced level.

All courses are taught in Chinese, using Hanyu Pinyin for pronunciation. The programs help international students apply Mandarin in both daily life and professional settings. Cultural classes and off-campus visits are regularly organized.

Features

  1. To provide professional Teaching Chinese as a Second Language(TCSL) instruction.

  2. To ensure all courses are delivered by certified professional TCSL instructors.

  3. To provide intensive language and cultural interactions.

  4. To help students acquire Chinese speaking and listening abilities so they can effectively communicate with native speakers of Chinese outside of the classroom.

  5. To regularly offer students individual language one-on-one tutoring sessions with TCSL majors.

  6. To offer flexible class schedules.

  7. To regularly offer culture courses, including but not limited to Chinese calligraphy, Chinese chess, seal and stamp making, paper-cutting and study of Chinese traditional festivals, help students gain a deeper understanding of Chinese culture and strengthen their command of the Chinese language.

Course Schedule

Students are not permitted to select their class times; class placement is determined by the Center based on placement test results.

Classes are held Monday to Friday, either from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. or from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Tuition Fees

Visa Students

  • Three hours of classes per day (Monday to Friday)

First semester: TWD$31,000

      • Includes tuition, registration fee (one-time only), accident and medical insurance.

Continuing semester fee:TWD$29,500

      • Includes tuition, accident and medical insurance.

Non-Visa Students (Regular Students)

  • Three hours of classes per day (Monday to Friday)

First semester: TWD$28,500

      • Includes tuition, registration fee (one-time only).

Continuing semester fee:TWD$28,000

  • Two hours of classes per day (Monday to Friday, excludes cultural thematic courses)

First semester: TWD$19,000

      • Includes tuition, registration fee (one-time only).

Continuing semester fee:TWD$18,500

Important notes

  1. In each class, reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills are given equal emphasis to ensure comprehensive language development.
  2. Students must complete a placement test prior to enrollment and are required to pass a final exam at the end of each course to advance to the next level.

  3. If a student accumulates 30 hours of absence, a warning notice will be issued. Students who reach a total of 40 hours of absence will be dismissed from the program.

  4. Tuition refunds are limited to tuition fees only. Registration and insurance fees are non-refundable. A 90% tuition refund is available if withdrawal occurs before the first day of classes. Students withdrawing after attending less than one-third of the course will receive a 50% refund. No refund will be issued if more than one-third of the course has been completed.

  5. Textbooks are available for purchase through the Center. Registered students may purchase textbooks at a 10% discount off the original price (approximately NT$620–900 per book).
