Unveiling the Mystery of Zhuyin (Phonetic Symbols in Taiwan)
Zhuyin, also known as Bopomofo, is one of the systems used to annotate Chinese pronunciation. It is a unique way of marking Chinese pronunciation, exclusive to Taiwan, comprising a total of 37 sounds: 21 initials, 3 head vowels, and 13 finals. Unlike the horizontally written alphabet commonly seen, Zhuyin is written vertically, with the Chinese tones marked on the right side. In our online course, you will learn how to combine Zhuyin pronunciation with Chinese tones, understanding how Taiwanese people use Zhuyin to type Chinese characters.
