Alumni of the Ph.D. Program in Business at Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU), Dr. Peng Choong Leng and Dr. Chen Hsiao-Chuan, Honorary Members of the CYCU Chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS), partnered with Adjunct Chair Professor Chao-Chen Chen of CYCU’s Center for General Education to organize the 2026 Global High School Research Competition. The initiative successfully connected high schools in Taiwan, Malaysia, and Singapore, creating an international platform for research-based learning and academic exchange.
Dr. Peng, President of the Malaysia Global Industry-Academia Innovation Association (MyGIAC) and Dr. Chen, have long promoted educational collaboration between Taiwan and Southeast Asia. He brought together international educational resources to encourage high school students to develop research skills, interdisciplinary thinking, and innovative problem-solving abilities in preparation for higher education and global academic engagement.
This year’s competition expanded to Singapore for the first time, with 26 finalist teams from Taiwan, Malaysia, and Singapore. Projects covered a wide range of topics, including artificial intelligence, environmental sustainability, life sciences, and public issues. Award-winning projects focused on generative AI, the circular economy, life sciences, and sustainable development, reflecting students’ commitment to addressing global challenges through research.
