The New Chairman of the Indonesian Students Association in Taiwan (2025–2026)

“Strengthening the Spirit of Progressive and Gentle-Hearted Indonesian Scholars”
The Indonesian Students Association in Taiwan (PPI Taiwan) officially inaugurated its Executive Board and Representatives for the 2025–2026 term on October 25, 2025. The ceremony was held at the Ballroom Hall, 1st Floor of the Indonesian Economic and Trade Office (IETO Taipei).

Carrying the theme “Indonesian Scholars with Progressive Minds and Gentle Hearts,” the event highlighted the essential role of Indonesian students abroad as contributors to Indonesia’s present and future. Today, more than 21,000 Indonesian students are studying across Taiwan, forming a vibrant and diverse academic community.

The inauguration was attended by over 50 student representatives from various regions in Taiwan, along with approximately 40 invited guests, including IETO Taipei officials, Indonesian diaspora leaders, interfaith student communities, and the Indonesian Catholic Family in Taoyuan.

In his remarks, Ignatius Reyner Giovanni, the newly inaugurated Chairman of PPI Taiwan, emphasized that love for Indonesia is not only expressed in large achievements, but also in sincere, everyday actions:
“To love Indonesia means to give our best in every possibility — within our communities, our studies, and our daily efforts. Even the smallest and unseen acts matter. Indonesia Emas must first take root in our hearts before it can become a national reality.”
Meanwhile, Mr. Arif Sulistiyo, Head of IETO Taipei, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to protecting and supporting Indonesian students in Taiwan. He noted ongoing efforts to strengthen structural support through the proposal of a dedicated education representative:
“Students are not alone. Let us move forward together so that Indonesian students in Taiwan have a strong guardian who stands firmly to protect and support them.”
The ceremony underscored the shared aspiration for Indonesia Emas (Golden Indonesia) — a vision born from unity, nurtured by hope, and realized through collaboration, creativity, and genuine contribution.

Congratulations to the Indonesian academic community in Taiwan.
May our dedication, excellence, and sincere service continue to shine for our beloved nation.
May God guide our good intentions.
